Chester Domestic Shorthair Adult Male in Merrifield, Virginia

My story
Chester came from his rural home as a kitten.

He was a super feisty little guy from a barn; now he's a big guy who has mellowed a lot. This big orange tabby, who is declawed on his front paws, is looking for a new home through no fault of his own, but rather because of a family health issue. Chester loves having his head petted and will purr very loudly when he is happy. He asks for attention by rubbing against your legs and loves to lean against you when he is relaxing. He will also climb onto his humans if they are in a reclining position.Chester is generally a quiet guy who really loves to lounge near windows or on nice comfy sofas. At night, he may decide that his favorite spot to sleep is on the pillow above his human’s head.Chester has been around cats but he is not a fan and prefers being an only cat. He is fine with older children and adults, but, as sometimes happens with declawed cats, may offer an occasional harmless nip. Therefore, he should not be around younger children who don’t understand his need for personal space on his own terms. He has never been around dogs.Chester is a rather enthusiastic eater, but wants to lose a few pounds, so he would like an adopter who will help him to slim down to a healthier weight through a regulated diet.Chester’s estimated birth date is July 2015. He is neutered, current on vaccinations, has tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia, and will be microchipped before adoption. He is also declawed on his front paws. Please e-mail us if you're interested in Chester. Be sure to include your phone number in your message. Please limit inquiries to the Greater Washington, DC area, except for barn cats.
